Changing the question description will change the name of the question text for the specified question.

To change the question description text you will need to open:

  1. QuestionDescriptions.csv

  2. Questions.csv

Open both files in a spreadsheet software e.g. Microsoft Excel or Numbers (Apple).

In the questions.csv file (the questions are ordered as they appear in the assessment) look for the question you want to change the question description. Once found, take note of the ‘question id’ for the question. In the QuestionDescriptions.csv file, find the record containing the matching ‘question id’. The question description can be edited by changing the text in the ‘question description’ field which is adjacent to the ‘question id’.

In the example pictured the assessment display name has been changed from ‘Old question’ to ‘New Question’.

Save the file as a Comma-separated values (.csv) file and re-upload to see the changes to the description to be applied instantly. Depending on the software you may need to export it as a .csv file.
